Michelangelo Buonarroti A Life rom Beginning to End Biographies of Painters Book 3 Audible Audio Edition Hourly History Mike Nelson Books Reviews

  • I've read "The Agony and the Ecstasy" but that was a fictionalized account of Michelangelo. This is a simple relaying of the facts of Michelangelo 's life. It was interesting to note how many different popes he actually worked for. If you ever wondered about the artist that painted the Sistine chapel, read this book.
  • Another interesting resume of a very talented man by Hourly History.
Although - there's limited information about his personal life or his relationship/s with other (equally talented) artists of the same period.
Just a few grammar glitches that should have been picked up.
  • Very informative biography of Michaelangelo. One disappointment is that there is very little said about any rivalry or comparison made with DaVinci. Another facet of his life that is barely mentioned is his sexuality or his alleged homosexual tendencies.
  • This book is like an inventory of his greatest works. There is little about him as a person and very little about the circumstances under which the works were created. For a quickie about him, this is fine. I wanted more information.
  • 4 stars

    - I like most art. I did not know anything about him. I read an article on him several years ago and I do not recall it. This book is interesting.

    🇺🇸
  • Reading any of this book series are well worth your time.
  • Good read for anyone with an art interest and background. Not an easy read for the rest of us. I
  • Very concise

From critically acclaimed author Alice Oseman comes a smartly crafted contemporary YA novel, perfect for readers who love Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl. This is an utterly captivating and authentic teen novel from the author of Solitaire, which VOYA said “could put her among the great young adult fiction authors.”

Frances Janvier spends most of her time studying.

Everyone knows Aled Last as that quiet boy who gets straight As.

You probably think that they are going to fall in love or something. Since he is a boy and she is a girl.

They don’t. They make a podcast.

In a world determined to shut them up, knock them down, and set them on a cookie cutter life path, Frances and Aled struggle to find their voices over the course of one life-changing year. Will they have the courage to show everyone who they really are? Or will they be met with radio silence?

"“Hello. I hope somebody is listening.”

Be prepared for a crazy amount of quotes.

So, I didn't expect to finish the last 300 pages of this book last night. But I did. I also didn't expect to be completely drowned in this story. It took my feet and pulled and kept on pulling. A day later and I've yet to reach the bottom. That is how much it stayed with me. I'm beginning feel bad for people who haven't read this yet.

I don't even know where to start. *deep breath* Okay...

So, this is one of those books that I completely thought was different than it turned out to be. But it was a good surprise. Like Christmas morning and when you find a dollar in your pants pocket. The characters drive this story along. Oh, did I add that all of the main characters are queer? Not only that but there is so much diversity I almost ran outside and screamed for an AMEN.

There were so many geek references in this book. Game of Thrones. Scott Pilgrim. SPIRITED AWAY. On top of some pretty awesome music selections. I feel like I need to be best friends with the author. Like now.

The themes in this story include depression, sexual confusion, online bullying, and abuse but on top of that, you have friendships that wild horses could not pull apart, platonic love, long lost love, typical teenage problems like school and whether to check your Tumbler or not which made it so relatable. And even though Frances' mother was awesome, not all of the parentals figures were so understanding. Which is something a lot of teenagers can relate to for sure.

“I stopped speaking. There was no point trying to argue. There was no way she was going to even attempt to listen to me.
They never do, do they? They never even try to listen to you.”

I almost forgot to talk about the individual protagonists as a whole. So, there's Frances, and she's obsessed with a podcast called University City which is about a person stuck in a monster-ridden city set in the future. She meets Aled, who happens ot be the creator of the podcast. Cool? Yep. Only he doesn't want the world to know that. He is a very private with some heavy family drama.

“...it felt like we were friends. Friends who barely knew anything about each other except the other's most private secret.”

It's a slow burn friendship and THANK THE SKIES, there is no romantic love between them. They have a beautiful, soul-mate type connection that feels so real and it makes me yearn for something like that.

“And I’m platonically in love with you.”
“That was literally the boy-girl version of ‘no homo,’ but I appreciate the sentiment.”

Without giving too much away, Aled's podcast and his persona, Radio Silence hit me in the feels. When it all comes together, and we realize who he's speaking to and how deep his agony goes, it just ripped out my heart.

“I wonder - if nobody is listening to my voice, am I even making any sound at all?"

Sometimes, I think we all feel that way, and Radio's pain is our pain. This book was written for you and for me."

Radio Silence Alice Oseman Books Reviews

  • I love Alice Oseman's previous book Solitaire and I love Radio Silence just as much. One thing I love about Oseman's books is how realistic her teenage characters are. It's refreshing to read a book about teenagers where they actually sound and act like teenagers. (It helps that she is only a few years older than her characters.) I also love the diversity in this book in terms of both race and sexuality. It is something that is very much needed in books for all ages.

One of my favorite things in this book is the friendship between Frances and Aled. They are both so sweet and wonderful and their friendship was great. I loved how it helped both characters grow. I especially loved their text conversations, they always made me smile.

I didn't expect to love the side characters as much as I did. I also didn't expect to hate a character as much as I did. Every character is three-dimensional and so interesting to read about. It's hard not to care for them (except for the one).

I appreciate how Oseman included an emotionally abusive relationship in this book. In other books I've read that mentioned abuse it was almost always physical abuse. Emotional abuse can be just as damaging so it's good it's talked about with the same level of seriousness.

I did have one problem with the book and that is that the beginning is a bit slow. The chapters throughout the book were short so that made it easier to keep reading, but I felt like it took a bit to get the story really moving. However, once the story gets going I couldn't put it down.

Overall, Radio Silence is a wonderful story full of laughs, heartbreak, and beautiful friendship. I can't wait to read it again.

Sometimes, I think we all feel that way, and Radio's pain is our pain. This book was written for you and for me.
  • The book centers around two friends, one who is the anonymous Creator behind a podcast and one (the narrator) who is a fan of the podcast. It's a very fandom-y story at times, though not in a love letter to fandom kind of way; you both see love and support from fans but also harassment and doxing. Despite that, there's definitely a sense of the creation of this podcast and its associated art being home for the narrator and her best friend.

A big point of the book is that there's not one best path for everyone after secondary school. "University isn't the right next step for everyone, even people who get good grades" is probably the most key message here, and I thought it was handled well.

I read this largely because there's a demisexual character. There's a conversation between the demi character and said character's significant other about what asexuality is and isn't (which is well done), and the word demisexual is used on page. I have conflicted feelings about this conversation, but I still appreciate the representation.

As complicated as it gets, I love the friendship between Frances and Aled. The messages between them in particular are gold.
  • I binge-read this at like midnight and it was probably one of the best decisions I made. The character journeys/relationship in this book felt natural. There was a wonderful m/f platonic relationship at the core which was so nice to read. The little excerpts of Universe City in every chapter really gave the podcast some life. I wish I could write down everything I loved about this book
  • I liked the fanfic elements of this, and the characters were A+. Varied, interesting and I wasn't sure where the story might go next. However, the black moment suffering part lasted for too much of the story and I feel that Frances wasn't the right protagonist for this story- the story was really about Aled and the book centered around his journey, but it was told by a side character, which was a little disorienting especially for the large part of the book when she didn't know what was going on with Aled. Great themes and characters but wrong choice of protagonist and a plot that felt a bit unbalanced. I might try others from this author though. 3.5 stars

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Blacker A Memoir in Essays Audible Audio Edition Damon Young HarperAudio Books Reviews

  • Perhaps because I'm a woman, and thus have experienced the relentless anxiety caused by the need for constant social vigilance, worries about appearance, the pressure to be subordinate, and pathways blocked merely because you are who you are. So many touching, funny, and ruthlessly honest episodes that resonate even if one is not black and thus unable to feel the full spectrum of their intensity. For example, I, too, remember feeling exultant about Obama's election (twice!), and terrified that he might he assassinated. And this particularly tasty tidbit describing our current president* as "the world's rapiest tub of Cheez Whiz" still makes me laugh through the bitterness and dismay.
  • Raised in Penn Hills by educators, I’ve always known we must support our local authors. Having been introduced to Mr. Young in Friday’s NYTimes (he gives good interview), I received his memoir today. After a single chapter, East Liberty Kutz, be assured this man can write. I’d swear this was a work of fiction if it didn’t ring so true. Now ordering 2 more copies for my brother and sister and another for the library @ Linton.
  • Step back from the topics, which range from basketball to haircuts to Kool-aid and white. Endless whiteness. So, ok, step back from that and meet a brilliant and funny and insightful and exquisitely honest writer. Then after you’ve read this, and bought copies for 5 or 8 of your friends, re-read it, cuz you’ll find lots of new treasures.
  • Damon Young is one of America's star bloggers with his Very Smart Brothas, which Young co-edits with Panama Jackson. Their blog is now housed over at the Root, if you want to check out their insightful and frequently hilarious observations of life in America while Black. Young's memoir, What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Blacker, is hilarious in spots but the bulk of the book is a serious reflection on Young's life. For a white person, this book is a must read but I warn you it is not for the faint of heart or for anyone who suffers from white fragility. Young is an excellent "spiritual" guide if you view racial reconciliation work as spiritual warfare, which I do. Nun Katherine Weston, a member of the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Brotherhood of St. Moses, speaks of the courage it takes to embark on such a spiritual fight. Mr. Young possesses enormous courage and his readers will need courage as well to finish this book. One of the major teachings of Jesus is the importance of bearing witness and that is what I would encourage all white readers of Mr. Young's memoir to do--bear witness. Listen. Don't get defensive, don't argue, don't stop reading. Bear witness. Young's writings remind me of another powerful Black writer who recently passed away--Professor Julius Lester. Lester was a freedom rider in the Civil Rights movement and he used his remarkable talents both as a blues musician and a writer to bare his soul as Young does. Lester's first book was Look Out, Whitey! Black Power’s Gonna’ Get Your Mama. Lester's early writings are as brutally honest and emotionally charged as Young's are today. Lester, as he aged, grew in his faith and tempered his observations with the wisdom of a spiritual leader. My hope is that Mr. Young continues his fine writing and never loses his sense of humor or his sense of outrage. Lastly, my sincerest hope is that Mr. Young can age as Julius Lester did and never lose hope. Please read this book with an open strong heart and listen carefully to the price of 400 years of oppression on a good man's soul.
  • A thoughtful look at what it means to be a black man in Pittsburgh and in America. Surprisingly I related to much of his experience as my own as a man living in this city despite me coming from a privileged upbringing. There are pieces here that are humorous and others marked by poignancy.
  • I'm one of those white progressives and I found this book to be great. It is deeply insightful on manhood with which I relate easily and then provides perspective on the experience of being black in white spaces. I am a school counselor and the majority of my students are of color and I think every educator should read this book. I strongly recommend this book.
  • This book has given me so many emotions that it is hard to capture all of them. Nevertheless, the most reassuring feeling was joy. I had joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart to stay because this reads so well, challenged me and my outlook on some things, and best of all felt like the things I’ve felt and thought like the things I’ve thought. Damon is an incredible writer, I have loved his work on Very Smart Brothas for a little over two years, and am so happy I pre-ordered this book. It will definitely make you feel something, as any good book should, and I hope it is the relatable joy I felt. Or at least make you want to have someone else buy the book and read it, so there’s more people talking about it.
  • I knew this book would be good but I underestimated how personal and thoughtful this book would be. Damon has written a masterpiece. It’s is absolutely hilarious and I couldn’t put it down. His descriptions of the people and places around him (from his wife, to his point guard on his pickup basketball team), are brilliantly executed.
I have recommended this book to anyone I know that reads and who also enjoys a good chuckle.

Her Dragon Protectors eBook Lilly Wilder Reviews

  • Danni lost her mother at a young age. Because of this, Danni had issues opening up herself to love. Dani’s friend, Misty, however, had no such reservations. But Danni and Misty had a system; anytime Misty met someone new, if thing got out of hand, Misty would text Danni for a rescue. One night Misty did, then disappeared.

Frantic to find her friend, Danni goes looking for Misty. Once Danni arrives at the “date site”, she meets Cal, the guy Misty was SUPPOSED to meet, but Misty dumped Cal for another. Danni feels an instant connection to Cal, but then HE disappears.

Danni is beginning to feel as if her grasp on reality is slipping, when she meets Finn and discovers that myth and magic does exist, and that she is an integral part of a larger destiny.... For here there be dragons!
  • Danni’s friend Mysti send an SOS code. Cal was Misti date but she felt their was no chemistry and dumped him. Danni feel something when she finds Cal while looking for Mysti. Could this lead to something? I liked the characters in this book. The plot is about healing and it is well done. There is a action and romance in this story.
  • Liked the way everyone was into trying to help bring one back into the fold. Not sure I am into the m/m relations, but it made for a good story line along with bringing in the female aspect into their relationship. Helping another dragon to deal with his loss was a great turn.
  • Danni and her friend Misty are out on separate dates when Danni receives a text with a code word that says her friend is in trouble. When Danni goes searching for her, she can’t find her but runs into the guy Misty was meeting at the bar. He tells Danni that Misty left with another guy and they go in search of her. When they find her, she isn’t in trouble and in fact texted Danni with the wrong code word. Danni leaves with Cal, Misty’s original date and they end up spending the rest of the evening together. Danni feels a connection there and she texts Cal after getting his number from Misty but he doesn’t respond. She starts to worry and seeks him out at the construction site where he told her he works to find another guy looking for him as well. She finds out the other guy’s name is Finn and that he and Cal are both dragons and that Cal has been taken by another dragon bent on revenge. This starts an adventure for Danni and she and Finn go after Cal and they find that they are attracted to each other as well as being attracted to Cal. They are able to persuade the other dragon that the things that happened in the past were nobody’s fault and that it is time for them all to heal and reunite with the rest of the dragons. In the end, Danni finds love with not one but two men who are also dragons and Cal and Finn get not only the piece that was missing from their relationship in Danni but a reunion of the dragons as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good dragon romance!

I received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
  • The rambling! The never ending inner monologue! The self righteous babble!
It was too much to handle.
So this girl gets a text from her friend, that basically has no respect for anyone including herself, with a code word for “help needed”. She goes to a rundown bar ALONE with nothing but pepper spray. She demands answers all the while rambling to herself how horrible, dirty, rundown the place is and how the TINDERdate her friend had must be a horrible person for choosing it. Then she castigates him when she finds him - a total stranger- and when he explains how her friend left him standing there for another guy, literally, she excuses her behavior as “yeah she can be like that but she’s my friend and I would do anything for her even put my own life in jeopardy even though she makes really poor decisions and makes me save her” which she does not once or twice but SEVERAL times including walking up to some tough looking bikers looking “coquettish” and needing to be rescued when they get frisky. And walking into a strangers house after hearing screams.
At the end the night she throws herself at her friends TINDER DATE and kisses him. When he smirks at her and rides away without another word and no way to get in contact with him she decides they are meant to be and gets the phone number offered by her bff (who was never in any danger but instead sent the WRONG code word - putting her friend’s life in danger several times but they both laugh it off so no big deal, right?) and texts the guy. After not receiving a text back she gets mad and then gets worried about this guy she’d talked to for only a couple hours (don’t even get me started on the absolutely ridiculous build up of some horrible event that happened years ago that she can’t talk to with ANYONE but yet spills her guts to this stranger that was out on a freaking tinder date with her friend (the big event had nothing to do with her btw and the talk about being guilty was ridiculous))and who walked away from her without a word. She decides to hunt him down and goes to his JOB and asks his supervisor for his whereabouts. Let me ask you, if you were to work at a construction site, would it be acceptable for someone to just show up and demand to talk to you? She could have put his job at risk all because she was pissed he didn’t answer a text that obviously she didn’t send that long ago because the guy would have still been at work!!! Then she meets his friend who was also looking for this guy AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE and he gets rude and short with her.

This ended at the 27% mark. 95% of the book so far are her inner ramblings most of which are self righteous and judgmental against everyone but her friend
    I couldn’t take anymore. DNF
  • The main characters in this novel were very interesting, even surprising. Not the least of which was Danni’s best friend Misty. Misty was a pistol! Yet staid Danni was her counter-foil. But they were BFF’s and when Misty turns up missing, Danni tries to find her. That search ends at one of Misty’s hot-spots and Danni finds Cal, who turns out to have been Misty’s date earlier in the evening. The date Misty left for someone she found more exciting. But Danni finds herself enjoying her time with Cal while they talk, first about Misty’s whereabouts and later about other things. Danni eventually finds Misty but then Cal goes missing. She enlists the aid of Cal’s friend Finn and that’s when Danni finds out about her two dragon shifters, Cal and Finn and the world that exists all around her. Can Danni limit her growing feelings for either dragon? And who has it out for both dragons and does Danni get in the way of the troubles her two dragons have? Great story and mystery!

A compelling history of the national conflicts that resulted from efforts to produce the first definitive American dictionary of English

In The Dictionary Wars, Peter Martin recounts the patriotic fervor in the early American republic to produce a definitive national dictionary that would rival Samuel Johnson’s 1755 Dictionary of the English Language. But what began as a cultural war of independence from Britain devolved into a battle among lexicographers, authors, scholars, and publishers, all vying for dictionary supremacy and shattering forever the dream of a unified American language.

The overwhelming questions in the dictionary wars involved which and whose English was truly American and whether a dictionary of English should attempt to be American at all, independent from Britain. Martin tells the human story of the intense rivalry between America’s first lexicographers, Noah Webster and Joseph Emerson Worcester, who fought over who could best represent the soul and identity of American culture. Webster believed an American dictionary, like the American language, ought to be informed by the nation’s republican principles, but Worcester thought that such language reforms were reckless and went too far. Their conflict continued beyond Webster’s death, when the ambitious Merriam brothers acquired publishing rights to Webster’s American Dictionary and launched their own language wars. From the beginning of the nineteenth century to the end of the Civil War, the dictionary wars also engaged America’s colleges, libraries, newspapers, religious groups, and state legislatures at a pivotal historical moment that coincided with rising literacy and the print revolution.

Delving into the personal stories and national debates that arose from the conflicts surrounding America’s first dictionaries, The Dictionary Wars examines the linguistic struggles that underpinned the founding and growth of a nation.

The Tech Contracts Handbook Cloud Computing Agreements Software Licenses and Other IT Contracts for Lawyers and Businesspeople David W Tollen Books Reviews

  • Great resource. I watched a video by David Tollen on this topic for CLE requirements, which prompted me to buy the book. Straight forward and written in plain English. You don't need to be a lawyer to understand Mr. Tollen's delivery. If you're a practitioner, this is a great desk reference. If you just want to have a solid reference for drafting and/or negotiating technology oriented agreements for any reason, you should get this book.
  • A good resource for legal, procurement, and other business professionals. It's a little simplistic for attorneys with a lot of experience (20+ years myself), but it does have some solid case and practice references. I would buy it again, and would highly recommend it as a reference for non-lawyers.
  • A good reference when one is dealing with Tech Contracts. Straight to the point explanation which helps non-lawyers understand fully some legal technicalities one can encounter during drafting/reviews of Tech contracts. Looking forward to additional topics such as DDoS and Payment provider gateways.
  • The books is a very good reference guide for lawyers who need to review and draft technology contracts. The author has guided me to the important points, clauses and things to consider, it also has boiler plate clause that is very useful.
  • Great insight and actionable recommendations for tech contracts
  • Good Book. Sample clauses are decent. Do not recommend buying the kindle cloud reader version; hard copy would be better.
  • Prefect for what we needed at work
  • Clear presentation.

We are in the midst of a powerful psychedelic renaissance. After four decades of hibernation, the promise of the psychoactive 60s - that deeper self-awareness, achieved through reality-bending substances and practices, will lead to greater external harmony - is again gaining a major following. The signs are everywhere, from the influence of today's preeminent psychedelic thinker Daniel Pinchbeck, to the renewed interest in the legacy of Terence McKenna, and to the upsurge of collective, inclusive (and overtly tripped-out) cultural phenomena like the spectacle of Burning Man.

The Psychedelic Experience, created in the movement's early years by the prophetic shaman-professors Timothy Leary, Ralph Metzner, and Richard Alpert (Ram Dass), is a foundational text that serves as a model and a guide for all subsequent mind-expanding inquiries. In this wholly unique book, the authors provide an interpretation of an ancient sacred manuscript, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, from a psychedelic perspective. The Psychedelic Experience describes their discoveries in broadening spiritual consciousness through a combination of Tibetan meditation techniques and psychotropic substances.

As sacred as the text it reflects, The Psychedelic Experience is a guidebook to the wilderness of mind and an indispensable resource from the founding fathers of psychedelia.

"I work with the ill and dying daily, as well as trippers. When someone I know dies, falls into a comma, comes out of a psychotic episode, or decides to dive into the abyss, I make sure to have this book on me for the recitations- just in case.

None of the negative reviews of this book take into account it's historical importance. The Books of the Dead are still seen today by conventional authorities as Funerary Rituals, which is true, but the funeral the rituals are for is not simply the body, but the ego- which is most likely the "psychedelic experience" referred to in the title. "Psychedelic", I believe it says in the book, is not restricted to drug induced experiences, and drugs are not the only way to suppress and/or kill the ego.
This book is not simply a manual for trippers, hence what I assume is the confusion I see expressed in these reviews. Though it might be thought of, or even marketed that way, that is simply too narrow a view of this work. It is in fact, a manual for the Tibetan Book of the Dead (aka The Tibetan Book of Coming Forth by Day). I see no negative comments here by anyone claiming to have read that book. I definitely suggest read it, and even Yents' other books, before attempting to fully grasp this one.
🙏"

  • I was there, or you could say now, then. My friends and I took our first hit on sugar cubes in 1963. Just before the book came out . One of my friends ordered it special cause it came out in 1964 so we waited for it by the mail-box daily till it came . When it did, as a group we used it to navigate through the difficult places the book suggest. Seeing the whole structure of the material world on a micro / macro level. Understanding the structure of the mind/brain/personality process. We discovered the clear light and used to say when we saw each other weeks after we took trips together "Are you still where it's at". We could maintain 2-3 days of total awareness of the effects of the L.S.D. At this time that we took it, It was still Legal. It became Illegal in 1966 at which time we stopped taking it. (disclaimer) Ha! Ha!. The book was responsible for changing the way we view the world and our selves. We did loose our ego's. We did experience most of the levels in the book as real to us. Nothing short of a full on Eastern Mystical experience. The real thing only from a drug and an instruction book. With out the book we had no way of labeling our experiences so as to identify them as they happened. We missed a lot without the book, although the intensity of the experience was self explanatory with out it.Today My feet are on the ground but still I study and practice being in the "Now" Echart Tolle is a good source for today on getting there on the Nach! I dont recommend use of any drugs or mind altering substances because with drugs you come down and forget how you got there. But today we have many books and practices that get you there for real and forever. Remember this is a life time work to be done by everybody regardless of your religion or belief but without Drugs. The bottom line is to see and diminish the ego domination of you personality and see and feel your pure, innocent nature as a human being. I'm 70 years old now. I took my first L.S.D trip when I was 18. That experience changed the way I saw the whole system so I had problems adjusting to society and life in general. But today I have a good handle on whats real and what's not real. Remember It's your mind that interprets everything.Your mind is all stored past memory. So you see through the past. When you loose the ego the past dies' so whats left is "what is". Thats where you start to understand whats true and whats false in life. Good Luck, R

  • This book is an invaluable resource of information about the psychedelic experience for anyone who's thinking about undertaking the experience, especially if they're apprehensive about it, or anyone who wants to try to understand a little bit more about it without trying illegal or legal drugs. The psychedelic experience is one that is overwhelmingly and incorrectly associated with other drug experiences, and this book, whether it means to or not, does a great job of explaining that the psychedelic experience is more of a religious experience than plain drug experience.
It's an irrefutable fact that every one of the world's major religions and wisdom traditions had a psychedelic drug ritual attached to them, even Christianity has his halos based on mushroom caps and art containing mushrooms everywhere. Timothy Leary went so deep with studying various ancient wisdom traditions to understand or explain or better navigate the psychedelic experience and this book does that 'beautifully.' The Tibetan Book of the Dead and Buddhism as a whole go brilliantly hand in hand with psychedelics, as if they were made for each other, but the inexperienced would need a little guidance to link some of the concepts with one to the concepts of the other, and that's what this book seeks to do. In my deeply experienced opinion, it succeeds 'gloriously.'
  • This book is INCREDIBLY amazing!!!! I got this for the hopes of better going into lsd trips and with this book i have a better understanding of the phases and physical symptoms of any resistence as well as if you do experience negative symptoms during a trip it lists ways to calm down amd get out of it! This book is a must have for any body who experiments with psychadelic plants/drugs or anyone who naturally induces higher states of consciousness .
  • The content is what it is. The book format, however is really tragic for an e-book. It's almost as if it was scanned page for page and digitized, with section titles randomly placed in line with the text and repeated periodically as you traverse a section. Also the book cover image was missing. It literally has text claiming that the "image is missing". Poorly executed and not properly checked before putting out there. I would like a revised copy.

"I truly enjoyed these looks into the distant past when I sat on the floor, cross-legged before the family radio, listening to and "seeing" what the Lone Ranger and the Shadow were up to. I especially enjoyed Brian R. Bland's piece about working at an obscure radio station back in the day. His writing elevated my appeciation of the entire book. The guy should be writing an entire memoir of his life in radio."
